INXS NEW SINGER TALKS ABOUT HUTCHENCE SHADOW
INXS found their singer on the Network TV show titled, Rockstar: INXS, and they chose the outspoken J.D. Fortune as their new frontman. The band released a new album, Switch, on Tuesday (November 29). |
Many in the industry are wondering whether the highly rated deciding episodes will lead to record sales. Another question is how Fortune, much younger of the rest of the band, will hold up with a full album-tour cycle and with the pressure of trying to perform songs by and live up to the legend of the late Michael Hutchence. Fortune said that he’s glad to sing the old stuff. |
“A good song is a good song, man.” Ten years ago, ten years from now, whatever. If it moves you it’s doing its job. If it makes you feel anything it’s doing its job. It’s good.” |
Fortune was then asked about being a young, inexperienced, guy coming into a new rock band. |
“Yeah, man. Lucky thing I’ve got some great brothers here that are showing me the ropes and I’m trying to show them a few things in the meantime. We’re all hitting it as hard as we can. We’ve got a great record out there, and we’re habing a blast. So that’s what it is.” |
After a few club appearances and an in-store at Tower Records in New York City in support of Switch, the band is bracing for a full-fledged North American tour starting January 18 in Vancouver, British Columbia in the great white north. |
