IMOGEN HEAP TO TAKE HER MATURING VOICE BACK INTO THE STUDIO
Imogen Heap, perhaps best known for her vocal work in the band Frou Frou, has been touring the world on the strength of her last solo release 2005’s ‘Speak for Yourself’ which received critical recognition all the way to two Grammy Nominations. ‘Speak for Yourself’ received such praise, Heap thought it was a good opportunity to rerelease ‘iMegaphone’ in 2006, which was her first solo album released back in 1998. |
Heap, who been touring extensively even admitted she is missing her studio and can’t wait to get back in there to record her maturing vocals as soon as possible. |
“The plan is to get back into the studio as fast as humanly possible because I’ve really missed it. I’ve done a lot of touring this year, last year and it’s been great. I’ve really enjoyed it but I really feel a hampering now for getting back into the studio. I’ve been doing a lot of singing live and I’m excited about recording my voice again because I feel like it’s matured again and I want to see what I can do in the studio with it.” |
With tremendous worldwide success and without any new music since 2005 look for Imogen Heap to head into her new countryside studio. |
“I haven’t had a chance to write any songs on the road and I know there’s stuff in there waiting to become songs so I’ll just have to find out what they are. So hopefully once those other shows are out of the way it will be May by the time I get into my studio in the countryside.” |
Imogen Heap has already begun the songwriting and preproduction on her third release and she has chose to start the process in Maui. Although no tour dates are currently booked, which is a first since 2005, Imogen Heap will look to have the album released by the end of the year or early in 2008. |
