ICE CUBE WARMS UP THE ANIMALS

Ice Cube can relate to what it’s like to move into a new home that’s in desperate need of repair with contractors trying to rip you off at every turn, but he’s never had to fight off a roomful of bats, or a nasty raccoon like his character does in Are We Done Yet.

Cube says he bonded with the menagerie of animals on the set.

“About as much as I could before I got either pecked, clawed or bit. Well luckily we didn’t have to really deal with real bats with all the computer generated bats so I didn’t really have to deal with them. I did deal with the chipmunk, the raccoon, the owl. We had a lot of different animals in this movie.”

Cube says he tried to get into the action of the film himself.

“I did as many stunts myself as I could because it just looks better. I did the canoe barrel roll and definitely took all the bumps and bruises in the falls. That’s me fighting the bats.”

Cube survived the raccoon but was done in by the little chipmunk that nipped him in the end. Are We Done Yet is currently playing in theaters.
