HUNTING PARTY PLAYS WITH INSANITY
The stars of The Hunting Party were attracted to the insanity of their characters. |
Richard Gere and Terrence Howard star in The Hunting Party, the story of a washed up reporter hoping for his big story when he reels in his camera man to capture Sarajevo’s most wanted war criminal. |
Gere was attracted to the insanity of his character. |
”The guy is irreverent, out of control. Very few rules are left for this guy. He’s fallen about as low as you can fall. And again to keep a thread of possibility in the guy, it’s lurking there at the same time that he is totally outrageous. He’s a very fun balance to play for an actor.” |
Howard liked the fact that his character was in the thick of it filming in war zones, an insane thing that he would never do in real life. |
”And often times his back is right where the action is taking place. He has no one protecting him and so it takes a lot of courage to do that. Or you either have to be in a position where you are ready to die or you’re looking for death. I don’t know. It’s a little insane. You know that’s what makes this fun. I’m over there playing someone that I could never imagine being in my real life. And the bombs and the explosions and the machine gunfire; all that feels real. The special effect here are so precise. It’s absolutely great and you feel like you’re right there in the midst of it.” |
The Hunting Party which also stars James Brolin and Jesse Eisenberg, opens Friday, September 14th in theaters nationwide. |
