Hugh Jackman stars in Scoop as a playboy aristocrat who might be involved with more than dating fancy women and maintaining his vast fortune with Scarlett Johansson becoming his next conquest. Hugh met with several aristocrats including the grandson of the Queen to perfect the character’s suave but mysterious personality. Hugh says that after getting down to business as Scarlett’s love interest, the song and dance man enjoyed a duet or two with his lovely leading lady. |
Hugh says he was impressed with Scarlett’s vast knowledge of the old standards. |
“The only thing well good for my marriage is that Woody only generally does one take. What people will discover in this movie is not only is she a great dramatic actress but an incredible comedienne. When I see her on screen with Woody it just reminds me of Diane Keaton. She’s just very funny, very quick and has a great chemistry with Woody and can match it with Woody. Off screen she’s a pure delight and I have to say an amazing singer. We used to sing a lot off camera.” |
Hugh and Scarlett talked about doing a movie musical together one day but for now he’s currently back home in Australia on a three month tour reprising his role as Peter Allen in a big arena spectacular of The Boy From Oz.rn |
“She’s particularly amazing for a young girl, loves the old standards, Rogers and Hammerstein, Rodgers and Hart, Ella Fitzgerald, Sinatra that kind of era. She knows every lyric of every Rodgers and Hammerstein song ever written. I mean it’s kind of extraordinary. So we used to do a few duets in the make-up trailer.” |
