HOT FUZZ TAKES ON THE LAW
Shaun of The Dead creator Edgar Wright watched hundreds of American action flicks to co-write and direct Hot Fuzz, bringing the British Bobby the kind of crime that only happens in the movies. |
Wright set the film in London locations previously known for high tea rather than hot pursuits. |
“I hope people like sort of in the UK enjoy it on the level that we’re bringing a level of carnage and excitement and action to locations that have previously not seen such things. It’s approaching the kind of clichéd sleepy virgin parochial kind of England in a completely different way. I hope we haven’t done the British Bobby a disservice. I hope we’ve made the British Bobby look bad ass in a way that they never have before.” |
Wright hopes Hot Fuzz will do for law enforcement what Shaun of The Dead did for zombies. |
“And I hope people in other countries who watch it in the similar ways of Shaun find it kind of charming that we attempted to kind of take the Yanks on at their own game which I think they’ll find endlessly amusing especially when they start spouting all the urban kind of swearing that you can think of. I think people will hopefully get lots of different things out of it.” |
Hot Fuzz was shot in Wells Somerset, UK the smallest city in England known for their natural springs, taking over Somerfield Supermarket, St. Cuthbert’s Church and the famous Crown Pub. |
