HOOBASTANK FREE SHOWS, A TOUGH TICKET
(VIDEO) Just because Hoobastank’s recent club jaunt is free, don’t think that it’s an easy feat to get a ticket, explained singer Doug Robb… |
Hoobastank is currently on the road in advance of their new album, Every Man For Himself, which arrives in stores May 16. The current promo tour is free to those who visit the website or those who win contests in each market. |
The band recently played a free show at the Hard Rock Café in New York City. Vocalist Doug Robb said that despite the low cost to get into the shows, fringe fans shouldn’t be under the illusion that tickets for these intimate shows are easy to get. |
“Well, this is kind of like a promo deal we’ve been doing. We play about 11-12 shows throughout the U.S. I wish I had a better way to describe it without saying, ‘it’s a grassroots type thing,’ but it is just that, like giving something back to the fans that have been there from day one in these small venues. Because we’ve been playing these big venues for quite a while now. We played a show in Boston a couple of days ago that was awesome. It was so small and so sweaty, it was really a throwback. I felt like it was 2001 all over again. That’s another thing. The shows are free and they are for our fans. You can get them through our website or wherever, and it just kind of guarantees that the people that show up want to be there.” |
Hoobastank’s new single, “If I Were You,” is currently climbing the Alternative Rock chart. Fans who missed the band on this go-around can see the band when they swing around the next time. Hoobastank’s summer schedule had not been released at press time. |
