HOOBASTANK ALMOST DONE WITH NEW ALBUM
Hoobastank’s new effort, Every Man For Himself, was released to stores on Tuesday, and the band has a good shot at being the highest charting debut, challeng… |
Hoobastank is putting the finishing touches on recording their follow-up to The Reason, and the band is eager to get new material into the hands of their fans. The band isn’t an overhyped, and the band has enjoyed steady growth. |
Hoobastank’s self-titled first album was certified platinum and the second album, The Reason, was certified double platinum. Vocalist Doug Robb said that the band set the tone for a steady climb and a career with their first effort. |
“I don’t know. I just want to feel like it was the right way. It didn’t sell like 600,000 records in the first month and 400,000 over the next 15 months. We were really consistent. It was a gradual build up until right at the end. We toured for about 16 months and literally right at the end it just just went platinum. We just kept chugging along. It wasn’t a fluke, is what it was. We were really consistent, and what I think that did was it really left a lot of room to grow.” |
Hoobastank finished their time on the road playing solo shows and opening for Velvet Revolver. The band played a one-off date October 8 in Los Angeles for hurricane relief via the Warped Tour with Pennywise, The Used, and Rise Against. |
