HINDER – SHOW ME THE MONEY OR NOT
A Perfect Circle, Avenged Sevenfold, Danzig, Staind, Korn, Hollywood Undead and others are coming together for the 2011 Rock On The Range festival in May of … |
Hinder has released their new single, “Better Than Me,” and the band hopes that it will further propel their album, Extreme Behavior, to new heights. The album currently sits at 2 million records sold, which was spurred on by the runaway hit “Lips Of An Angel.” |
With all the success we asked Hinder’s bassist Mike Rodden and drummer Cody Hanson a few months back if their life has changed monetarily due to the success. |
[Rodden] “Not a bit. Not a bit. The fact that I can pay my phone bill every month. I’m stoked about that. I have nothing else to pay for.” [Hanson] “We haven’t seen any of the money yet. They say it’s coming, whatever. I don’t even care. I would pay to do this, so it’s like if it comes, great, if not, I’m having a good time. I just love being here.” |
While the band admits they’d record albums, tour and meet fans for free, they despise musicians who aren’t grateful for their blessed position in life. |
[Rodden] “We’re not getting rich doing this. I really don’t care. I mean we don’t have to really work, so it’s cool with me. This is not work. All the people that do this and they bitch about this and say hard it is and all that s–t. F–k you! This is the easiest thing to do, ever, and it’s so rad.” [Hanson] “I mean it’s probably only easy for us because we have a good time doing it. Other people are like, ‘Oh, f–k, another fan I have to deal with?!’ F–k that! That’s not how it should be.” [Rodden] “I’d like to slap that person in the face.” |
Hinder is currently on the first leg of their first ever European tour. The jaunt ends Thursday, April 5, but the band is poised for leg number two starting June 1 in Germany. |
