HINDER INSPIRED BY BUCKCHERRY MINUS SELF-DESTRUCTION
Hinder are having success with their old-school style hard rock as evidenced by the radio airplay of “Get Stoned.” The band have released their Universal Records debut, Extreme Behavior, and hope to build on the wave of new hard rock spreading across the airwaves. The band, especiallly the vocal tonality of singer Austin Winkler, conjures up comparisons to Buckcherry, and that’s fine with them. |
The band does admit that they’re influenced by the Buckcherry boys, and singer Austin Winkler can’t wait for the re-formed band’s new album. |
“See, I just think Buckcherry may have been ahead of their time. Maybe rock wasn’t ready for it to come back so soon. They’re in the studio and they’re putting out another CD and I can’t wait for it. That’s for sure.” |
“Get Stoned” seems to be popular among the rock crowd and they make no apologies about the album title, Extreme Behavior. The band strives to bring the sex, drugs, and rock and roll mantra back to life, but bands like Buckcherry, Guns N’ Roses and countless other rock groups have had trouble not letting the lifestyle destroy them. Winkler talked about his plans for rock and roll and surviving in the long-haul. |
“I don’t see us self-destructing just because I think we’re all pretty much on the same level at all times. Either we’re all really hammmered and everybody’s having a good time or we’re onstage and we’re rocking out. We never take anything too seriously, except for the music. Everything else is just party madness.” |
Hinder is currently touring the U.S. leaving no stone unturned. They’re touring small, medium and large sized markets and will be on the road with this leg of dates through April 22 in Richmond, Virgnia. Meanwhile, Buckcherry’s new album, titled 15, is set for release April 11. |
