HENRY ROLLINS SUPPORTS OLIVER STONE
The outspoken Henry Rollins shares the dirt for World Trade Center director Oliver Stone, and he supports his quirkiness. Keywords: IFC, Rollins Band. |
Rocker Henry Rollins is a fan of director Oliver Stone because like him the controversial filmmaker who’s World Trade Center opens tomorrow is uncensored and he knows how to push the buttons of the American public. Whether we agree or disagree with what Stone has to say, Henry says it’s important to support his art. |
Henry admits to not making it all the way through Stone’s epic tribute to Alexander the Great, but promises to give it another go. rn |
“But I think he’s a great cinematographer and I know the guy, I’ve met him a few times over the years and he’s a fascinating guy. He thinks differently. He’s one intense dude. Guys like him should be making movies. He’s not a nice friendly guy. Instead he’s real. And I must say he’s a maniac but he’ll be the first to tell you. He thinks so differently and that’s the kind of person who should be making art. One of the jobs of an artist is to jar us out of our day to day doldrums and make us go, ‘ooh that was awful,’ or ‘that was great.’ Or to make us look at something differently and he really does that.” |
