HENRY ROLLINS RANTS AGAINST CELEBS

Outspoken rocker and host of The Henry Rollins Show on IFC, Henry Rollins has never been shy with his point of view. Rollins has toured Afghanistan to support the troops and has something in common with celebrities like Angelina Jolie and her work in Africa. But don’t get Henry started when it comes to famous people getting up on their soap boxes.

Rollins prefers to make a difference and righting wrongs by donating money to organizations he supports such as Partnership for A Drug Free America and a small orphanage where he lives in Los Angeles that he can keep tabs on.

“Celebrities I don’t really care. Quite honestly when celebrities sound off about politics, when celebrities take a stand, I tune out. When Barbra Streisand, ‘goes I think,’ I’m like, ‘click.’ Don’t want to know. Just because celebrities don’t mean much to me. I’m not putting them down, but people may say, ‘then why do you speak?’ I’m not a celebrity man. Oh yes, you are. No I’m not. I’m not Jane Fonda. I’m not Barbra Streisand, I’m not Susan Sarandon. I’m not putting these people down. Susan Sarandon is a tremendous actress and I probably agree with 99.9 percent of what she has to say. It’s just when it comes out of the mouth from someone who makes about 8 million bucks a year telling me how it’s so bad out there I’m like, ‘what do you know?’ You don’t go home to it. You go into it and observe and then you go home to Malibu.”
