HENRY ROLLINS HAS CONFIDENCE IN BARACK OBAMA AND HIS CABINET

Henry Rollins talks about America’s election of Barack Obama and why he has confidence in the cabinet he’s putting together.

The always political and often opinionated, Henry Rollins spends his time these days doing spoken word performances built around his views and thoughts on what is transpiring in the world today. In a very important election, it was Barack Obama that beat out John McCain and now the world awaits the new direction our country is about to take.

We caught up with Henry Rollins to get his thoughts on America making the right decision in nominating Barack Obama.

“I think of all the candidates America had to chose from, Barack Obama, John McCain, Dr. Ron Paul, people like that, I think in my opinion America made the right choice and I think every other American if you look at the votes would agree with me, fair enough. What the future is remains to be seen. But as far as the next four years trying to neutralize the problems that are happening and to look to the future it was going to be McCain or Barack Obama, I think of the two easily my chips are on Barack Obama.”

So as Obama continues to surround himself with experienced politicians from former President Bill Clinton’s team like Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and former first lady and now Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Rollins’ shared his thoughts on why he has confidence in the President Elect.

“What will happen? That’s really not as much up to Barack Obama as much as it’s up to the American people kind of dropping the divisiveness and dropping the name calling and the ‘You hate America’ and all of that and just going look, Republican, Democrat let’s shelf it for now and just agree that we’re Americans and let’s go upfield together and quite honestly, I’m sick and tired of the arguing. I’m sick and tired of the name calling and ‘You hate American, no you hate America!’ None of these people hate America. ‘You don’t like the troops!’ Everyone likes the troops, so if we can get past that and get into solid solutions. That’s what I’m for. I’m for America! But I think Barack Obama and the people he’s choosing for his cabinet is reflecting that to me very much, so I got confidence in the guy.”

Henry Rollins continues to stay extremely busy as he recently released a series of documentary specials on IFC, continues host his weekly radio show as well as perform spoken word dates around the world.
