HAYLEY OF PARAMORE REACTS TO BEING NAMED 2ND SEXIEST VOCALIST BY KERRANG

Hayley Williams of Paramore gets shy after Kerrang Magazine readers vote her the 2nd sexiest vocalist in Rock

Hayley Williams, lead vocalist for Paramore was recently named the 2nd most sexiest vocalist in rock, coming in just behind Amy Lee of Evanescence, in Kerrang Magazine’s annual year end readers poll for 2007. Williams, who is the energetic red headed vocalist, has been turning heads and drawing fans to the music of Paramore with her incredible vocal ability. Paramore, who have created a lot of buzz after the release of their sophomore album ‘Riot!’ also saw the singles ‘Misery Business’ and ‘CrushCrushCrush’ gathering major radio air play as well. It was also recently announced that Paramore have been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

We caught up with Hayley who is seated with lead guitarist Josh Farro, during a break in the band’s busy touring schedule to get her thoughts on being named the 2nd most sexiest vocalist in rock.

“(Josh Farro) I thought it was awesome. It made me feel really good!” (Williams) “I don’t understand how I’m on a sexy list. I don’t think I’m sexy. I don’t know. I don’t know. It was definitely weird, especially being near the top of the list or at the top of the list behind Amy Lee. That was just ridiculous. I don’t know, no one really told me that was coming. They just said ‘Hey look. You’re in this magazine.’ And I open it and it’s like ‘Sexy #2!’ and I’m like ‘What?’ I don’t know. It’s just weird and there’s not much I can really say about it. I’m kind of shy. I just got real shy there.”

Paramore have also announced they have had to cancel a few dates in Europe during Feb of 2008, so the band can take part in The 50th Anniversary of The Grammy Awards, which takes place Feb 10th at The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Paramore will be going up against Feist, Ledisi, Taylor Swift and Amy Winehouse for Best New Artist.
