HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS VISITS NYC FOR NINTENDO IN-STORE
(VIDEO) Hawthorne Heights visits NYC for Nintendo In-store, does “real” acoustic performance. |
Hawthorne Heights played and acoustic set, played some video games, and signed autographs for fans at the Nintendo store in New York City on Tuesday, October 3. The band returned to the big apple over the weekend as headliners on the Nintendo Fusion Tour, which also features Relient K and Plain White T’s among others. |
Drummer Eron Bucciarelli and Matt Ridenour stopped to talk with us about playing the show. |
[Bucciarelli] “Yeah, yeah, us coming to the Nintendo store is all a part of the whole Nintendo Fusion tour that we’re doing, you know we’re doing an acoustic performance here today in New York, and we’re also doing one in Seattle as well.” [Ridenour] “If we weren’t on the tour we would probably be here anyway.” [Bucciarelli] “…at least shopping, or something.” |
Bucciarelli discussed the mindset of an acoustic performance. |
“Oh yeah. Doing an acoustic performance is completely different from a regular show. For one, Matt and I don’t have to do anything because I play drums and he plays bass. It’s a lot more laid back.” |
Hawthorne Heights follows in the footsteps of Evanescence, Fall Out Boy, and Panic! At The Disco as headliners for the fest, and the duo admitted there is a little pressure trying to live up to the past. |
“There’s definitely a lot of pressure headlining the Nintendo Fusion tour, and a lot of really big bands have done it in the past, you know, Fall Out Boy, Story Of The Year, and Evanescence have done it in the past. I guess we’re sort of looking at this probably how they looked at it, as a means to propel our career. This tour has done great for all those bands. They’re all huge now.” |
The Nintendo Fusion Tour winds down November 11 in Chicago, Illinois. After the tour ends Hawthorne Heights will start work on the follow-up to If Only You Were Lonely which was released earlier this year. |
