HARD-FI HITS NUMBER ONE IN ENGLAND
Hard-Fi’s Stars Of CCTV has hit the Number One slot in the U.K. album chart. Theh album features the hit song, “Cash Machine,” and their up and coming single, “Hard To Beat.” |
The band has come a long way from forming in the small town of Staines, England, where vocalist Richard Archer said there wasn’t exactly a lot going on. |
“The town we live in, right, there’s not a lot to do there. There’s not a lot going on. There’s no music venues, there’s no rehearsal rooms, and there wasn’t even a good book shop until recently, there isn’t even a good record shop. So there’s one nightclub — it’s basically like going to a wedding. The age range is like a wedding, a bad wedding, a wedding where there is always punch up — and it’s that sort of music, so the only thing to do is make your own entertainment. And we’d set up some decks at the back end of the bar that encompassed all those acts. It would be everything; rock, dub, hip-hop, soul, house, whatever, as long as it was good.” |
Hard-Fi are touring the U.S. and they’ll be playing dates in the country through February 4. The band then heads back home to start a European tour on February 13. |
