Hall and Oates, the best selling rock duo of all time with eight #1 singles, three double platinum albums and two platinum albums as well as countless other hits ranging from “Everytime You Go Away,” “Kiss On My List,” “Maneater” and “Sara Smile,” are getting ready to release a Live DVD from a recent show at The Troubador in Hollywood, Ca. Hall and Oates performed two nights at the legendary venue, both of which were filmed and will be released in the near future. The performances, which were held in May of 2008 marked the first time the duo performed at The Troubador since 1973. |
We caught up with Hall and Oates to get their thoughs on coming full circle and performing at The Troubador for the first time in 35 years. |
“Well it’s always interesting to go full circle. We’ve done this a few times in other situations, like The Apollo Theater in New York City and places like that but it’s always interesting to go back to where you started. It gives you a sense of, it’s very seldom that you can get a sense of your place and I think that that’s one of the ways it happens when you sort of revert to the beginning. We are recording both nights for a DVD absolutely.” |
Daryl Hall is currently hosting ‘Live from Daryls House’ which has become an internet sensation as he brings in a wide variety of his friends to perform songs at his house. John Oates is currently finishing up his latest solo album, “1000 Miles of Life” which was recorded in Nashville and features a collection of guest musicians. The album is due to be released by the end of 2008. |
