GUY PEARCE PREFERS THE PRESENT TO THE FUTURE
Guy Pearce stars in First Snow as a cocky salesman who gets his palm read by a traveling clairvoyant while on a business trip who tells him his life is in danger when the first snow falls. |
At first Pearce shrugs it off as entertainment but soon gets caught up in wanting to learn more about his uncertain future. Guy says he’s very content living in the present. |
“I don’t think I would like to know my future. I’m fascinated with the idea of wanting to know my future but I think the reality is if you did would be too caught up in that sort of looking forward rather than where you are at the moment. I think these days I’d like to try more at being present rather than fantasizing about something or dwelling on something that’s happened. So no I don’t think I really want to know.” |
Guy’s character in First Snow is so bogged down by living with every day choices that the thought of dying before he figures things out sends him into a tailspin. Guy says it’s a cautionary tale to not let life pass you by. |
“Generally I suppose like for people to remember the film, to actually kind of let it simmer a little bit and have some sort of resounding affect so that it actually resonates that maybe people will wake up a little bit before an horrendous event occurs to them.” |
First Snow also stars Piper Perabo as Guy’s live-in girlfriend and J.K. Simmons set to star in Spiderman 3 plays the fortune teller. First Snow is currently playing in theaters. |
