GURU ENJOYING LIFE AFTER GANG STARR
GURU has evolved and he’s enjoying life after Gang Starr. |
Gang Starr was one of the most influential rap groups of all time comprised of rapper GURU and super producer DJ Premier. The duo hasn’t released an album since 2003’s The Ownerz and it doesn’t appear that they will any time soon. GURU has partnered with producer Solar to launch 7 Grand Records and he explained that he feels like he’s evolved as an artist. |
The rapper said, |
“But yo I mean, that was a great era. Gang Starr it was a legacy. It was that s**t, you know what I mean? Now things have moved on and changed. I’m doing new better things and that’s just the way that goes. It’s all about growth and change. All of my favorite artists were able to evolve like I was speaking on. And big up to those Gang Starr heads, the real heads though who been supporting 7 Grand. Who been coming to the shows, who been buying the CDs and so forth and understand the dynamic of super producer Solar and the legendary GURU.” |
GURU will release a new mixtape next month titled, GURU’s Jazzamatazz: The Timebomb/Back To The Future, which is a street version of his Jazzamatazz Four project. The mixtape will be hosted by DJ Doo Wop and features guest appearances by Damian Marley, Lord Tariq, Nature, C Knowledge from Digable Planets, Aceyalone, and Zion I. |
GURU’s Jazzamatazz 4: The Hip Hop Messenger, Back To The Future is in stores now. |
