GUNS N’ ROSES MAY DEBUT AT 2, A7X IN AXL ROSE’S CORNER
Guns N’ Roses may debut at Number Two this week behind Kanye West, but Avenged Sevenfold’s Matt Shadows remains confident in Axl Rose. |
The new Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy, will come in anywhere between 300,000 copies sold and 500,000 copies sold, estimates industry chart publication Hits Daily Double. The album is still expected to trail Kanye West’s new release, 808s & Heartbreak in the U.S. In the U.K. it’s already been reported that The Killers’ new effort Day & Age has come in at the top spot with Guns N’ Roses at Number Two. |
Guns N’ Roses has undergone quite a few changes, and Avenged Sevenfold’s Matt Shadows has always been on the band’s side throughout. In an interview a few years back he said that he believes Axl has always been the real genius behind the band. |
“From the new stuff that I heard and from the demos, I can tell that Axl had the biggest part in Use Your Illusion 1 and 2. The lyrics, the way he writes the lyrics, the vocal stylings, that to me was a major part of Guns N’ Roses. Even though you can’t have Guns N’ Roses without Slash and all those guys, but just to me Axl is the most important part of that.” |
Guns N’ Roses released Chinese Democracy exclusively at Best Buy stores. The band recently filed suit against Dr. Pepper after they used the band’s name in a free Dr. Pepper promotion that was botched. The soft drink maker said it would give people free Dr. Pepper if the album was ever released, but only came through with a difficult to acquire voucher and not a soda, upsetting fans. |
