GUITAR HERO AEROSMITH UNVEILED IN NYC
Guitar Hero Aerosmith was unveiled on Friday, June 27 in New York City, and the band talked about the concept and hard work that went into it. |
The Hard Rock in New York hosted the unveiling of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on Friday, June 27. Steven Tyler, Brad Whitford, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer were in attendance to answer questions from host Eddie Trunk and the fans and press in the audience. |
During the press conference vocalist Steven Tyler was asked about the idea of having the band in a video game. |
“The game really, it affords gamers to be musicians and musicians to become gamers. So in that respect it allows again, everybody gets to dance between the notes with Aerosmith. It’s got all of our songs from time immemoriam — I learned that word this morning — and it’s just a great thing. Technology today is just ridiculous and we wanted to be part of it.” |
Backstage guitarist Brad Whitford, drummer Joey Kramer, and bassist Tom Hamilton were asked what the biggest challenge was of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. |
[Hamilton] “Well it’s kind of a challenge. The motion capture is a bit challenging because you’re in this big empty room with people standing around filming you and half the people checking their watch to see when lunch is. You’ve got to be inspired. We actually put a sheer amount of time beyond what we put into other projects other than records.” |
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, which officially hits stores June 30, is not Guitar Hero 4. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is a special edition dedicated to the band because of the popularity of its songs on the Guitar Hero games. Guitar Hero 4 will have a World Tour theme to it, and it’ll be released this fall. |
