GREG KINNEAR HAS LOVE FEST WITH MOVIE POOCH
Greg Kinnear is so unlucky in love in Feast Of Love that the only relationship that seems everlasting is the one he developed with his movie pooch, a Springer Spaniel named after his character Bradley. |
In the film Greg wants his movie wife played by Selma Blair to get over her fear of dogs so he takes her to the local pound and has her pick a dog that looks just like him. |
“Do you know I got to pick the dog for Feast of Love. I was brought into a room with Robert Benton. This is why I like to work with great directors like Robert Benton. He’ll bring you into a room and he’ll have seven dogs and it’s a big part of the movie with the character and the book and Bradley, Jr. is the name of the dog and he brings me in a room and says, ‘which one’s Bradley? Which one looks like you?’ Well that one looks like me. I had a good relationship with my movie pooch until he crapped in my trailer.” |
As far as human love, Greg ponders whether it’s life’s most meaningful experience as his character says in the film. |
“The greatest fear that I had when doing this movie was that I would start to be asked about my takes on the virtues of love and now it’s happening. Of course I’m not deeply prepared to become the Love Guru, I’ll leave that to Mike Myers. The thing that I responded to with Bradley Smith, the character is that he is hopeful to the ends of the earth in spite of having his heart ripped out and stomped many, many times. He keeps bouncing back so there’s a resilience there that I responded to.” |
Feast of Love also starring Morgan Freeman and Radha Mitchell, Woody Allen’s muse in Melinda and Melinda, opens Friday, September 28th in theaters. |
