GRAMMY NOMINATION PROOF KT TUNSTALL HAS A CAREER IN AMERICA
Being successful in America has always been important to KT Tunstall and with a Grammy nomination it seems she’s accomplished her goal. |
KT Tunstall on the strength of her latest album ‘Eye to the Telescope’ has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her single ‘Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.’ |
KT was on hand at the 2007 Grammy Nomination press conference and we talked about her Grammy Nomination, being a success in America and her thoughts on what both mean for her career. |
“Well, I was just so, so pleased. As a British artist you really never ever take it for granted that you’re going to have a career in America and it’s something that’s very important to me because I spent a year here as a teenager in High School. That was when I started writing, I had my first band and I played on the street, I would go and play at open mic nights. America has really been a formative part of my life as a musician. It’s always been important to me to try and have a career here and this. Being a musician is all about getting on stage and playing for people. So this to me makes me confident that I can get on my tour bus and play some more gigs.” |
KT will be going up against Pink, Sheryl Crow, Natasha Bedingfield and Christina Aguilera for the Grammy in Best Pop Female Vocal Performance. The Grammy Awards will be held Febuary 11th on CBS. ‘Acoustic Extravaganza’ the acoustic album that KT recorded on Christmas on the Isle Of Skye has been recently re-released and the album features brand new tracks, acoustic versions from ‘Eye To The Telescope’ tracks and a ‘making of’ documentary. |
