GOLDEN GLOBES HONORS BEST MOVIES AND TELEVISION

Alec Baldwin, Hugh Laurie and Sacha Cohen were among the actors who took home Golden Globes for their excellence in movies and television.

The 64th Annual Golden Globes honored a diversity of actors in movies and television for their excellence in drama and comedy. Eddie Murphy’s low salary paid off as he won best supporting actor for Dreamgirls.

Alec Baldwin was relieved the award wasn’t heavy after hernia surgery which he revealed.

Alec Baldwin: Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for remembering your old pal in the autumn of my career here. Thank you for all the other nominees. It was a great honor to be sided with you. The cast and crew of our show Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan. Tina is right here, stand up Tina where are you. Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski. Eddie Murphy: Thank you Bill Condon for putting me in your wonderful, wonderful movie and directing such a wonderful movie. Thank you David Geffen for convincing me to work for free. It’s all worth it now. Thank you, you were right.”

Sacha Baron brought the house down thanking his co-star Ken Davitian for Borat and Hugh Laurie hoped his speech would be in his goodie bag for best actor award for House.

Hugh Laurie: It seems odd to me that in the weeks leading up to this event when people are falling over themselves to send you free shoes and free cufflinks and free colonic irrigations for two, nobody offers you a free acceptance speech. There seems to be a gap in the market. I would like to pull out a speech by Dolce and Gabana. Sacha Cohen: When I was in that scene and I stared down and saw your two wrinkled golden globes on my chin I thought to myself, ‘I better win a bloody award for this.’”

Rounding out the men Forest Whitaker took home best actor for The Last King of Scotland and Warren Beatty was honored by Tom Hanks with the Cecil B. DeMille award thanking his wife Annette Bening as always making him feel like the most promising newcomer, an award he won from the Golden Globes in 1962.
