GODSMACK RELEASES FOUR TODAY
(VIDEO) Godsmack released their new album, Four, today and vocalist Sully Erna talked about what makes it stand out from their past. |
Godsmack is set to release their new album, Four, today (April 25), and it will definitely take their fans by surprise. While they’ve carved out a niche for themselves as an angry aggressive metal band, this effort gives them room to spread their musical wings. |
Vocalist Sully Erna said that this album is the most melodic of their catalog. |
“It was one melody after the next just started coming out of us and I just really feel like there are more hooks and melodies on this record than we had ever written before on all our records.” |
While every artist says their new album is the best album they’ve ever done, Erna can also add to the mix that the song lyrics on the album are the most personal he’s ever written. |
“We’ve branched out musically. We are definitely getting away from riding the line of metal. We’re becoming a lot more rootsy, a lot more rock. There’s definitely a strong blues influence on this reocrd. And for me, lyrically, I’m very attached to this record because it reflects a very important part and time in my life.” |
The only dates on Godsmack’s schedule so far are Canadian dates that run through June. That leads to further speculation that Godsmack will be the special guests on this year’s OzzFest. |
