GODSMACK NEW ALBUM, BAND JOINS WITH DROPBOX SINGER?
Godsmack entered into a studio November 4 to begin recording music for their next album and first since 2003. The band is looking to finish up soon for a release in the first half of 2006. |
Band mastermind Sully Erna’s Realign records sported a band consisting of ex-Godsmack vocalist Lee Richards and vocal phenom, John Kosco. While the band’s sales were disappointing, Erna remained in the singer’s corner. Now Kosco has teamed up with the members of Godsmack, minus Sully, for a side-band, and it’s guesed that band will be released on Erna’s label. Erna talks about the character of Kosco. |
“This kid John was just a perfect… In my eyes he had the perfect rock voice, he had a great look to him, and he’s very humble. He’s the perfect kid to make a rock star because he’s not…. He’s not egotistical. I don’t think he has that in him even if he made millions of dollars down the road and had ten million records sold. He’s just that kind of guy that seems that he’d be able to hold himself very well with this whole thing and be able to deal with all the business crap that’s thrown at you and the stuff that spoils it for a lot of musicians.” |
Meanwhile, Godsmack’s Erna is set to sing the national anthem at the New England Patriots home game against the Miami Dolphins on January 1. And speaking of sports, bassist Robbie Merrill now has a blog on the National Hockey League web site. |
