Ghostface Killah, Fat Joe, and others rock Brooklyn crowd…… |
The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival looked more like a tropical jazz fest than a New York hip hop jam session. The event was held at the Empire Fulton Ferry State Park with Manhattan and several ferries serving as the backdrop. This year’s festival was hosted by Ralph McDaniels and featured a lot more than hip hop with acts like Emily King and El Michels Affair taking the stage alongside EPMD’s PMD, Large Professor, Skillz, Dres of Black Sheep, Jeru Da Damaja, Tanya Morgan, Chubb Rock, Channel Live, Kidz In Da Hall, Consequence, Poison Pen, Smif -N-Wesson, Sean Price, Heltah Skeltah, Fat Joe, Cappadonna, and the show’s headliner Ghostface Killah. |
Chicago based-duo, Kidz In The Hall, shared that they had to switch up their show a little bit for the Brooklyn crowd. DJ Double-O explained, |
“You’d be surprised. Like honestly we do a lot of s**t on the fly too like that a…when I made the beat on stage that was literally making it up like you know saying we’re gonna do that earlier this morning. You know so we put little things in the show. Sometimes change the order because we really like know okay we’re going to Brooklyn so it might roll like this. So let’s always be on our toes. So we try to just pay attention to everything that’s kind of going on so it always soemthing new for us.” |
