GARRY MARSHALL’S NAKED AMBITION FOR KEEPING UP WITH THE STARS

Director Garry Marshall takes an acting turn in Keeping Up With The Steins as an aging hippie grandfather who runs away from home due to a strained relationship with his son played by Jeremy Piven. It’s a family affair with Garry’s son Scott Marshall sitting in the director’s chair. Garry talks about proudly taking direction from his offspring in a very naked way.

The theme of the movie which is to let your children follow their own dreams is a universal one. Gary talks about the serious message behind the humor.

“Being directed by my son has been a very terrific experience I must say. I have a naked swimming scene in this and to be directed by your son while you’re swimming naked with Daryl Hannah is an experience many fathers do not have the opportunity to have. I consider myself lucky.”

“I think this film is about pretentiousness, being greedy, being a show-off and making your kids follow your own dreams instead of letting the kids have their own dreams. Making kids make up for your life when they should be living their own. I think this is a universal theme. It’s very funny so they will enjoy it but I think they will get what is the thing the picture is trying to say which is a good thing particularly in this day and age.”rn
