(VIDEO) Garrett Dutton, better know as G Love is getting ready to release another album full of his classic guitar, harmonica and one of a kind songwriting on ‘Lemonade.’ Find out where G Love gets his inspiration for some of his best songs, right here. |
G Love and the Special Sauce are getting ready to release another album of all new material with his trademark Philadelphonic sound. The album, titled ‘Lemonade’ will be released on Brushfire Records on August 1st and features an amazing list of guest musicians like Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Blackalicious, Marc Broussard, David Hidalgo, Donovan Frankenreiter and Tristan Prettyman to name just a few. G Love, who has a very unique sound with catchy lyrics built around guitar driven melodies blending in his harmonica and unique vocal structure will once again be showcasing his talents on ‘Lemonade.’ We caught up with G Love recently at Bonnaroo to talk about the album and how many of his songs and inspirations just come out of thin air. |
With a stunning list of guest musicians performing on the album and G Love’s son soon to turn five, we wondered if there are any obstacles being a father, a musician and a producer during the recording of ‘Lemonade.’ |
“I always find that my best songs come when inspiration hits you and comes out of you and it’s almost like you’re just a tool for the song to come out, you know. It’s just like you grab it out of the air. All my best songs I’ve just liked grabbed them out of the air and just put them out and then I’ve been writing songs since I was fifteen, so it’s just something that I do.” |
The first single off ‘Lemonade’ is ‘Hot Cookin’ and the song is already available on iTunes and on G Love’s myspace webpage. G Love and the Special Sauce will next be picking up their tour in support of ‘Lemonade’ starting at the beginning of August at the San Diego Street Scene and the band is also scheduled to make an appearance at Austin City Limits September 17th. G Love is a very busy man as he is already set to produce the legendary John Hammond’s new album later this year. G Love is also planning on releasing a live DVD hopefully in the not too distant future. Here’s a brief clip of G Love sitting in with Robert Randolph and the family band at Bonnaroo this past June. |
