FRIENDS ARE FAMILY IN CATCH AND RELEASE
The cast of Catch And Release say that their film shows the meaning of family in a different way. |
Families aren’t just nuclear anymore which is a theme that is explored in the film Catch And Release. Jennifer Garner stars as a bride whose fiancé dies and when she can no longer afford their apartment moves into his bedroom where he lived with his best friends. |
Jennifer who has a brand new family with husband Ben Affleck and baby Violet says families change as you get older. |
“And it’s about friendship. I love my family. I’m really close with my sisters. I love my parents but I don’t live close to them. So if something happens in my life I’ll talk to them no the phone but really I’m with my friends. Really I lean on my friends. And you do kind of create a family wherever you live as you get older.” |
Kevin Smith and Sam Jaeger play the best friends who become Garner’s roommates. Both guys agree that friends are family too. |
“That’s kind of the world we live in. It’s the world everybody lives in like when you’re not working you’re usually with your friends if you’re not in a relationship and thankfully all your characters are single otherwise it would be kind of weird and awkward. Sam: And I think so often when something traumatic happens in life you don’t run necessarily to your parents, but you run to your best friends.” |
Best friends grow into a love relationship in Catch and Release when Garner surprisingly falls for one of her fiance’s buddies, Deadwood star Timothy Olyphant. |
