FOXY BROWN SAYS SHE IS THE VICTIM
Foxy Brown denies any wrongdoing in Florida battery case. She says she’s a victim of police brutality. |
Rapper Foxy Brown says she was the victim following her arrest earlier this month for baterry and resisting arrest with violence. The singer was arrested outside of the Queen Beauty Supply Store in Pembroke Pines, Florida for allegedly spitting on the owner of the store after he asked her to leave the bathroom of the store at closing time. |
But Brown had a different take on what happened at a press conference in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday (February 26th). She said, |
“For the last ten days, the last week, I’ve been vilified in the media as assaulting a store owner of a hair supply store in Florida. What the media fails to forget is that there are always two sides to a story and perception isn’t always reality. The only crime I am guilty of committing is being a young black female celebrity in Broward County, Florida. And I’m the victim of an aoverzealous police department who engaged in police brutality and a money hungry store owner whose primary motives are for me to pay his mortgage on his house and his children’s tuition.” |
The rapper explained, |
“We stopped to use a rest stop which happen to be a beauty supply store, it was open at the time. We walked in, there was a young black girl at the counter who greeted us very warmly, ‘Hi Foxy, how are you? You look beautiful in person.’ I’m like, ‘Thank you. Can we use your bathroom.’ She was like, ‘No problem.’ She gives us the key. I go in the bathroom and that’s when the situation took place. I guess you know they were closing and he barged in and I said very respectfully if he can allow me to just get dressed and we’d gladly leave. Again the tape shows us walking out the door without incident.” |
Brown is out on $1500 bail and may be facing a probation violation for leaving New York without permission. The singer is on probation in New York for assaulting to two manicurists. |
