FOXY BROWN PLEADS GUILTY TO PROBATION VIOLATION
Rapper Foxy Brown avoided jail time on Thursday, March 1st, by pleading guilty to leaving New York without permission from her probation officer. Despite I request to violate the rapper and to send her to jail for a year from theprobation department, the judge decided to give the rapper one more chance. Her probation and anger management agreement will remain intact for now. The rapper is on probation for assaulting two manicurists in 2004. |
The rapper’s lawyer, John Sampson, explained what went wrong. He said, |
“My client, Ms. Marchand, notified her probation officer that she was leaving to perform as we did on other occasions. Subsequently her business manager is suppose to follow-up with a letter. Unfortunately it wasn’t done at that point in time. But my client did notify her probation officer that she was leaving town to engage in performances in Florida.” |
Brown’s leaving town became an issuie when she was arrested in Pemb roke Piens , Florida, on february 15th. The rapper was charged with battery and resisiting arrest with violence after she allegedly got into it with a beauty supply store owner. According to Brown, she was using the bathroom and half-dressed when the owner barged in and demanded that she leave the store. |
The owner tells a different story. He says the rapper and her friend were using the bathroom as their own beauty parlor and that when he asked her to leave she threw glue on him. |
Brown, who also alleges that the cops roughed her up, is free on $1500 bail. |
