FORT MINOR TO TOUR IN 2006 WITH LINKIN PARK RECORD IN THE WINGS
Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda will take his hip-hop side project, Fort Minor, on tour in support of the new album, The Rising Tied. Shinoda and company will kick off the tour January 28 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Only a handful of dates have been announced at press time and the band will be touring with Little Brother. |
Shinoda told us that his band has more members than Linkin Park and that when people walk in they’re always surprised. |
“For the live show, I definitely wanted to do something that would set us apart from the groups we might be playing with. What actually ended up happening is that we’re a pretty versatile group. We can play with many rock artists or hip- hop artists. But it’s more of a hip-hop set up. I mean, it’s me in the front with Ryu and Tak(bir)from Styles Of Beyond, Styles will be on and his DJ Cheap Shot in the back, a drummer named Beat Down, and we’ve got three back-up vocalist and three string players. And that always like, I think that always shocks people when they come in and they see these guys. There’s eleven people on stage, and it’s obviously something very different from the very first note.” |
In a rare opportunity throught the Linkin Park website, fans who join the Fort Minor Militia will have a chance to meet the band before the show and get autographs from the band. Fort Minor is out supporting their singles “Petrified” and “Remember The Name.” |
