(VIDEO) Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and wife have baby, where does this leave band?

Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn welcomed their new daughter, Violet Maye Grohl, who was born at Cedars Sinai Hospital a week ago (April 15). She weighed in at 6 pounds and 15 ounces and was named after his grandmother.

According to a statement, father, mother and child are happy, healthy and “up to (their) ears in green sh–s [you know what].” The couple originally wanted to keep it private, but drummer Taylor Hawkins accidentally let the cat out of the bag. Hawkins said that he has nothing but respect for his mentor.

“He’s totally been my sort of… Because I was a little different before I met him, you know? I didn’t understand how to act. You know, when I was in Alanis and stuff I didn’t like… ‘Am I supposed to be different or whatever?’ I just saw him and it’s not different. He’s just like a f–kin plumber or something. In the end it comes off so much more enjoyable that way because it’s not so f–kin’ pretentious and lame.”

Now that Violet Maye Grohl is here, the band can plan out the previously reported Acoustic tour, which is set for late spring or early summer. The Foo Fighters do have some festival dates on the schedule in June.
