We caught up with Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal to get his thoughts on his near death experience he had during a flight through Europe while touring with Dave Grohl and The Foo Fighters. |
“The plane stalled because of the mountains and you know the hills. Any mountain creates a wind draft and a little Sesna, it’s a bummer. I don’t even think, sometimes you crash before you get off the ground, I think is what we’re understanding now. But it died, the engine literally pft. What’s weird about an airplane is you think that it’s like a glider but it’s acutally not. It’s a big hunk of S*** in the air and it suddenly has no propulsion and we just went woosh.” |
Jesse, who also goes by The Devil as well as Boots Electric, also talked about how dangerous planes can be. |
“I s*** myself and I think I s*** in Dave’s (Grohl) pants. I mean I don’t even know what happened but the point is if you go up in the air dangerous s*** is going to happen. I think we all know that. But that being a fact, it has nothing to do with humanity and being people and we wish Mr. Barker all the best.” |
Eagles of Death Metal are currently touring in support of their upcoming new release “Heart On” which is inspired by a recent run of tour dates through the heartland of America and will be released in October. “Heart On” was produced by permanent part time member Josh Homme who is known to play drums in the band at certain shows. The bands current tour extends until November 25th in Houston, Texas. |
