FLYLEAF HARD ROCK OR POP?
Flyleaf will be hitting both the New York pop station festival ZooTopia and the Rock On The Range featuring Heavy Rock’s best. |
Flyleaf will change colors this weekend switching from pop to rock. The band is set to play Z-100’s ZooTopia in New York on Saturday, May 17, and then jet off to Columbus, Ohio for the Heavy Rock extravaganza Rock On The Range. Z-100 will feature artist such as OneRepublic and Miley Cyrus, while Rock On The Range is sporting Alter Bridge, Filter and Stone Temple Pilots, among others. |
The band, minus singer Lacey Mosley, who was suffering from shredded vocal chords, talked about the mindset playing a pop show like Z-100. |
[Pat Seals] “I’ve heard that it’s going to be a shorter amount of time, and I think we are who we are live and we’re just going to do it how we’re going to do it I guess.” |
We also asked Flyleaf who they’re looking forward to seeing at Rock On The Range. |
[Sameer Bhattacharya] “I think that STP might be playing the day before us, and I think we might be getting there a day early. I think Eddie is mixing them, so I want to try and see ’em.” [Pat] “I believe Black Tide is playing pretty early in the day, and they’re a cool new band. I think they’re going to go far, and I’d like to at least check them out. Sevendust is playing, and they’re kind of an older band I look up to a lot.” |
Flyleaf is having great Top 40 success with the Top 40 hit “All Around Me,” but songs like “I’m So Sick” and “Sorrow” were big rock format hits. The band is currently out on the road with Red and Seether. |
