FIVESPEED TO KICK INTO GEAR IN 2006
Fivespeed is one of Virgin Records most important priorities for the first quarter of 2006, and the band is worthy of the label’s attention. After touring with the likes of Skindred, P.O.D., and Cold, the band will hit the road next year in support of a full-length album, Morning Over Midnight, and their new single, “The Mess.” |
The Arizona-based five-piece released an EP around the time they did the Warped Tour in the summer, but the writing for the album was a very lengthy process, said Fivespeed vocalist Jared Woolsey. |
“We really wanted to compile a diverse record, where no songs kinda sound the same. We didn’t want to make a straight-forward rock record. We wanted to kind of have something for everyone. I think, just, the writing process took about a year and we really dove into it every day for like a year straight. That was probably… Just keeping fresh ideas in your head and trying to come up with new ones constantly for a year straight, contantly, was probably the most challenging thing.” |
Fivespeed’s Morning Over Midnight is scheduled for a January 24 release, but the EP, titled Bella is currently available on Equal Vision Records. |
