FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH TO HIT THE ROAD WITH SHINEDOWN
Even though they have distinctively different sounds, Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown are set to hit the road this spring. Both bands will end up on several festivals including Rock On The Range, Rocklahoma, and Rock’NDerby. Five Finger Death Punch is out supporting its latest album Got Your Six. The dates actually kick off in Fort Myers as part of the Fort Rock Festival on April 30. National pre-sales start tomorrow, Thursday, February 4, but there are local on-sales that start today.
Five Finger Death Punch just released their latest single and video “Wash It All Away”, the band’s second from Got Your Six. It quickly climbed the Active Rock radio charts and recently went Number One. The live performance music video for “Wash It All Away” was shot by iconic music video director Wayne Isham.
Meanwhile Shinedown singer Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers recently went on the Smith & Myers acoustic tour playing their favorite Shinedown songs and cover songs. They will actually have some dates before their time with Five Finger Death Punch starting March 1 with most dates having the Virginmarys as openers.
Zack told Artisan News that going out with just his singer did not create any friction with their Shinedown bandmates.
Five Finger Death Punch also recently received the prestigious “Soldier Appreciation Award” From The Association of the United States Army. The award was founded in 1950 by the then newly founded AUSA. This was based on having Germany and Europe stationed US troops that had a hard standing in the public. The soldiers had been under hard pressure and so the AUSA founded the Award to honor the organizations and/or people who supported the troops to make their daily life more easy and comfortable.
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory stated: “The Soldiers Appreciation Award is something very special. The only musician ever to receive this was Elvis Presley. Clearly what we have to say resonates with a lot of veterans and a lot of service members. To know that we are reaching people and touching their lives with our music is very rewarding, and to me this really is the sole purpose of being a musician — to be able to make a positive impact in somebody’s life.”
