FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH DRUMMER HAS DAD EDIT DEBAUCHEROUS BOOK
Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer has released a candid account of his story in music with one of today’s biggest bands. He did a brief promo tour for his book Death Punch’d: Surviving Five Finger Death Punch’s Metal Mayhem, in New York this past week. It follows Jeremy from his early days to his drug addicted youth to his sexual adventures to his return to abuse and recovery in recent years while trying to follow the way of the Fist.
He was helped out by his Dad, who is not only a BMI winning songwriter, but also a respected novelist. While it’s good to get dear ol’ dad’s help, we asked him if it was easy bringing the stories of debauchery, drug use, and other unflattering moments to his father to read and edit for the book.
Spencer admits that Death Punch’d, while still a revealing book, could have had even more Dirt.
And speaking of The Dirt he says he reads a lot of rock Biographies and says Motley Crue’s story, The Dirt, is the best he’s laid eyes on.
The book was released September 2 via Harper Collins and should be available in digital form via Amazon.com and other retailers — and also stocked in more traditional retail stores.
