The Fied Mob made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with their latest album, Light Poles & Pine Trees. The group sold more 63,000 copies of the album its first week in store to land at Number Seven. |
The album is the first release by the Field Mob since the group signed a deal with Ludacris’ DTP label. The group’s Smoke explained how they hooked up with Luda. He said, |
“I’ve been friends with Chris Bridges, Ludacris for a long time. We’ve been friends. You know, matter of fact, we were the last act he had on the radio station when he was Chris Lover Lover, you know what I mean? So what a coincedence that we signed to his label later on. Shout out to Boss man. Thanks, Luda.” |
The first single from the project is “So What” featuring Ciara. The set includes guest appearances by Bun B, Bobby Valentino, Jazze Pha, and Bone Crusher. |
The Field Mob released two albums on MCA Records: 2000’s 613: Ashy To Classy, and 2002’s From Tha Roota To Tha Toota. The group’s biggest hit to date is 2002’s “Sick Of Being Lonely.” |
