Fat Joe and Jadakiss have hooked up in the past. The result was the anthem, “New York” from Ja Rule’s 2004 set , R.U.L.E., and the underground classic, “John Blaze,” from Fat Joe’s gold 1998 release, Don Cartagena. Fat Joe and Jadakiss recently hooked up again but this time it’s for a pop record. The duo recorded the song, “Fightin Over Me,” for Paris Hilton’s forthcoming untitled album. |
Many hardcore hip hop fans think the move is career suicide for both rappers but Fat Joe explained that the haters have motivated him over the years. He explained, |
“You know what I mean? When I make an ill joint and I know somebody who hate me is gonna be sick when they hear it on the radio all day, that’s what really drives me to just push further. You know what I’m sayin’? If everybody said, ‘I love you Joe.’ I’d probably get gassed and just, you know, make wack joints, word.” |
In related news, Fat Joe will host the International Sneaker Battle. The event, which is part of the Funkmaster Flex Custom Car and Bike Show Tour, will be held on June 24th at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center in Edison, NJ.
