FANS GET PREVIEW OF 2006 WARPED TOUR AT KEY CLUB PRE PARTY
Hailed as America’s most successful festival by Rolling Stone Magazine and America’s longest running touring festival, the VANS WARPED TOUR 2006 held their annual pre tour kickoff party in Hollywood, Ca as a packed house of fans were treated to sets by Underoath, Paramore, Kennedy, Outernation. Fusing cutting-edge musical artists, top athletes in the action sports world and a wide range of attractions for fans, the VANS WARPED TOUR® 2006 will launch June 15 in Columbia, MD and wrap August 13 in Montreal, Quebec. Bands already confirmed for 2006 are AFI, Against Me, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Motion City Soundtrack, NOFX, Rise Against, Senses Fail, Everytime I Die, Thursday, Underoath and many more. We caught up with Underoath just before taking the stage at the Tour Kickoff Party to find out why this could be the best summer ever for Underoath. |
Underoath has been working hard in the studio with a new release slated for late spring of 2006, and having been away from the stage for a few months is it possible the band felt a little nervous performing at the Warped Tour Kickoff Party. |
“Yeah, we’ve been on it for the past two years and we were on it the whole summer two years ago and we were on half of it last summer and every time we’re on it, it’s usually the best shows of the year. So, we’re on mainstage this year and we’ll be on the whole thing and our record will be coming out so it’s probably going to be the best summer ever.” |
The Warped Tour, perhaps America’s most successful traveling festival, has a notoriously grueling schedule that gives bands usually only a handful of ‘off dates’ while on tour. We caught up with Everytime I Die’s Keith Buckley, to find out if the band has any reservations about a long Warped Tour that often has the band performing six out of seven nights. |
“I think it’s going to be awesome. We haven’t played a show since the middle of December and we’re a little nervous to get back out and start doing it again. It’s going to be awesome I think. This show’s been booked for a while and a lot of kids are really excited about it. Kevin was really cool for having us out here to do it.” |
Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman who is known for having an innovative mind when promoting and marketing the immensely successful Warped Tour will once again blend hip musical talent, action sports and an vast array of entertaining attractions for fans. This years tour will kick off June 15th in Columbia, Maryland and will conclude August 13th in Montreal, Quebec. |
“Yeah you know I thought it was a greuling schedule then we recently just finished a tour of just clubs and it was actually a week longer than Warped Tour is going to be. I think we can handle the Warped Tour, it was good practice. You know, coming off a fest like Ozzfest we really weren’t too confident about how the Warped Tour crowd would handle us. Until we did a tour with Story of the Year and First to Last and it was amazing and one of the most fun times we’ve had on tour. It got us a little cubbed up for Warped Tour this year, it’s going to be great.” |
