FALL OUT BOY STUMP AT BMI, WHILE WENTZ HONEYMOONS
Patrick Stump attended the BMI Songwriting Awards, skipping the press who would ask about Pete Wentz’s nuptials and their cover of “Beat It.” |
While Pete Wentz was on his honeymoon with Ashlee Simpson, his Fall Out Boy bandmate Patrick Stump was in LA at the BMI Awards. Stump and Wentz took home two awards at the ceremony. Nickelback won three awards and Hinder took home BMI Song Of The Year for “Lips Of An Angel.” |
Giving the songwriting team a break, Fall Out Boy’s new single is a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” and Wentz talked about their low profile. |
“We put out a live DVD/CD and shot a video for a cover of “Beat It” and so we’ve been editing that. We’ve been taking a break, and going easy and that kind of stuff.” |
The band also paid homage to another classic songwriting team at the BMI Awards. Stump represented Fall Out Boy and performed a version of “Rich Girl” in honor of the night’s Icon Award recipients Hall & Oates. |
