FALL OUT BOY HAS ADVICE FOR YOUR ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
Fall Out Boy is one of the lucky bands as their song, “Sugar, We’re Going Down” from their latest album, From Under The Cork Tree, has catapulted the band into success seen by few bands. It didn’t happen overnight for the band as they had released two other independently released albums. |
Songwriter Pete Wentz was asked what his advice would be to musically creative individuals as far as entertaining a career in the business. |
“I think that there’s lots of things you can do to try to… you embrace other aspects of your life, kind of, and other aspects of creativity. Write ’em out. That’s what I did. But I think a lot of people can start a band or you could paint or whatever. And you can kind of get it out, and embrace it and harness it rather than fight it off.” |
Vocalist Patrick Stump added that those that choose to go the band route better love what they do, since chances of success are minimal. |
“Just make yourself happy because lightning doesn’t strike that often. So, if you’re not happy doing it, you’re never going to be happy doing it. You know what I mean? So…” |
Fall Out Boy is on their second single, “Dance Dance,” and they’re working on a headline tour for early 2006 featuring All-American Rejects and Hawthorne Heights. |
