FALL OUT BOY EXPANDS TREE
Fall Out Boy’s latest album, Inifinity On High, debuted at Number One on the Billboard Charts, but Patrick Stump said it awas the band’s last chance. |
Fall Out Boy’s new album, Infinity On High,” has debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200 album chart. The much anticipated album, which expands the band’s repertoire of musical styles, and had a controversial lead track with “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race,” was a calculated gamble for the band. |
Vocalist and music writer Patrick Stump talked about how this was the last chance for Fall Out Boy to prove what they had. |
“I kinda felt like with this record, that this was our last — if we sucked, if we really didn’t do very well — this was our last chance to do it and have somebody front the bill, basically. If we really wanted those strings this was our last chance to be able to afford it, and guarantee be able to afford it. So, I kind of felt like, ‘Do the biggest, craziest best thing you could possibly do right now, because this is the one to prove to yourself.'” |
Stump said that they wanted to put their best foot forward just in case the music industry gods send them the way of Vanilla Ice. |
“When, if it doesn’t work out and your band disappears and your band ends up being Vanilla Ice or something, then you at least have this record to take home and show your grandkids that you made this. So that’s kind of how I felt about it. I just wanted to make something that I’d be proud of.” |
Fall Out Boy is set to tour the album as part of the Honda Civic Tour, which kicks off April 18 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before the tour, Fall Out Boy will be making their way across Europe to play shows and let the world know about Infinity On High. |
