EX-BLINK HOPPUS GETS PRODUCTION THRILL FROM MOTION

Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus is still creating music with Plus 44, but since his band broke up he’s been exploring the other side. Hoppus produced the new album by Motion City Soundtrack and he said it was a rewarding experience.

So after spending time trying to share his knowledge and steer the band in the right direction for the album, is he interested in going back to the producer’s chair? Hoppus told us, most definitely.

“Oh, definitely. Producing is something that I love. It’s so good for me to learn other people’s points of view for music, you know? Because when you’re in a studio… The greatest thing about being in a studio when a song is written is that it’s all these different ideas creatively coming together to form one song. And with Motion City Soundtrack there are five guys in that band, so five different opinions on every single song, and I have my opinion as well. The creative process of all these different minds coming together and that’s what makes a song what it is. Five different people would come up with completely different songs, so, I love it.”

Mark Hoppus is not only keeping himself busy playing music and producing. He’s also started his own podcast which he updates twice a month. He shares his views, interviews bands, and gives new artists a chance for some exposure.
