EWAN MCGREGOR SHOWS OFF MOTORCYCLE SKILLS FOR STORMBREAKER

(VIDEO) Ewan McGregor gets to show off his motorcycle riding as a secret agent in the film Stormbreaker.

Ewan McGregor stars in Stormbreaker as Uncle Ian leading the double life of a banker and a secret agent for M16 unbeknownst to his nephew Alex Rider. Ewan who documented Long Way Round, a motorcycle trip around the world with his friend Charley Boorman got to show off his riding skills in the film’s exciting opening chase sequence.

Ewan who also has three young children thought the film and the Alex Rider adventure series would appeal to them, not to mention other reasons why he chose to take on the small role.rn

“As the film starts we see Alex speaking to him on his mobile phone and in actual fact Uncle Ian is in the middle of some extraordinarily dangerous motorcycle chase and then car chase involving rockets and explosions and bazookas. It’s clearly not doing bank business, but doing some kind of spy business. It starts off with him jumping on a motorcycle and being chased by four other motorcycles along country roads, across a beach, down some steps, over jetties which of course I did all of that. I mean you don’t see me because there’s a black visor in the helmet but rest assured I did all my own riding in this film.”

Stormbreaker opens today in theaters.rn

“Obviously anything having to do with motorcycles interests me but more than that I thought it was a lovely relationship and I like the idea of what is essentially a cameo role in this film. I like the idea of doing bits and bobs in other films. It’s a nice British film. It’s a film that could appeal to my children based on the already popular books so it should be good.”
