EVERCLEAR BACK TO INDIE ROOTS, RELEASES HATER
Everclear, the band that made the song “Santa Monica” a huge hit in the ’90s is back and this time vocalist Art Alexakis is spewing venom. The new album is titled Welcome To The Drama Club, and the first single is “Hater.” |
When we caught up with Alexakis shortly before writing the album, and he talked about what connects people to Everclear. |
The line-up is a brand new line-up, and Art Alexakis said that the old band isn’t what people think it was. |
“The old band isn’t what you thought it was. They didn’t do what you think they did, OK? I think the potential of these guys are way greater than that. I mean these are guys that… I’m willing to let go of things and I don’t have to show them every part. They can figure things out and they come up with things. Regardless of what people were led to believe I was very involved with everything, even more than I wanted to be.” |
Everclear is now bassist Sam Hudson, guitarist Dave French, drummer Brett Snyder and keyboardist Josh Crawley. Alexakis recently went through his third divorce and he also went through a bankruptcy. |
