EVANESCENCE READIES THE OPEN DOOR
(VIDEO) Evanescence is set to release their new album, The Open Door, on October 6, and Amy Lee talks about the challenge of writing without her partner…. |
In the first news about Evanescence since the release of their Fallen album in the early part or the decade, it has been revealed that an CD will be released in the fall. Wind-up Records has chosen October 6 as the release date for their new record, The Open Door. |
The last time we heard from singer Amy Lee was in 2004 at the Grammy Awards. One major stumbling block was the departure of writing partner Ben Moody, and she was asked then about the challenge. |
“Um, yeah, definitely. Ben and I wrote almost all of Fallen together, but bands evolve and things change and I think that this can do nothing but make us better. It’s not so much as Amy Lee, but it’s definitely a new band, a new day, and a new chapter — hopefully a better one, a happier one, and a healthier one for everybody.” |
Amy Lee’s new writing partner is Terry Balsamo, formerly of Cold, and Balsamo’s former bandmates were hurt but understood what the guitarist had to do. |
Balsamo left Cold to join Lee and Evanescence, and Cold broke up shortly after. Evanescence made a huge splash with their song “Bring Me To Life.” |
