EMILY BLUNT NOT A CORSET FAN
Emily Blunt was glad to shed her corset playing Queen Victoria in an upcoming film. |
Emily Blunt is very excited about wrapping The Young Victoria. The Jane Austen Book Club star who is playing the role of Queen Victoria can’t wait to get out of wearing the 19th century tight fitting corset. |
Emily says she found the cinched in garment most uncomfortable at meal time. |
“There’s a lot of inhaling and it’s not so fun because they loosen you up for lunch and you eat lunch and I eat like a truck driver so I always eat too much and then they try to winch you back into it. Then your food kind of sits right there. It’s unpleasant. When I’m not on set I just slump around in sweats and have terrible posture but the corset helps you feel very regal and reverent.” |
Emily who is portraying Queen Victoria’s turbulent ruling years and her enduring romance with her first cousin Prince Albert played by Rupert Friend, did her homework. |
“I’ve read her diaries, I got to see her diaries and letters. They let me see her drawings and the music that she wrote. She was the most remarkable girl so it is an honor to play her.” |
The Young Victoria produced by Martin Scorcese is filming on location in England featuring Kensington Palace, Windsor Castle and Westminster Abbey. |
